IKEA Canada is extending the time customers have to return an item to its stores from 45 days to 365 days.

Customers will now have an entire year to bring back unused products after purchase, including assembled furniture and unexpired food (hot dogs not included).

The Swedish furniture giant calls the move a “no-nonsense policy,” giving customers the freedom to test a product out at home for up to a year. Original packaging and proof of purchase must accompany the product when being returned, and it must still be in resalable condition.

The new policy was first introduced earlier this fall and has now rolled out all of IKEA Canada’s stores, including to items purchased from its website.
