The 11th annual TELUS Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad is fast approaching and donations are quickly funnelling in.

Ride day is Saturday, May 25 and it’s not too late to register as a rider or make a supporting pledge.

“We invite all motorcycle enthusiasts to join the fight by registering for the Ride online and collecting pledge donations,” says Moe Sabourin, president, Winnipeg Police Association and co-chair of the Ride for Dad.

Last year’s ride raised $320,000 for prostate cancer research and education. Nearly $2.1 million has been collectively raised since the first ride 10 years ago.

The 2019 ride begins at Earls Polo Park, eventually leading all the way to Gimli and back. Organizers are hoping to surpass 1,510 registered riders this year and more than $355,000.

This year’s celebrity ride captains are former Winnipeg Blue Bombers Doug Brown and Obby Khan, women’s motocross champion Ami Houde, Winnipeg Jets assistant coach Charlie Huddy, and CTV Winnipeg news anchor Gord Leclerc.
