IKEA Winnipeg is making it easy for residents to recycle unwanted furniture items, electronics, and clothing this weekend.

The retailer’s fourth annual Eco-lution event is Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

That’s when Winnipeggers can stop by 500 Sterling Lyon Parkway and make their donation instead of taking their items to the landfill.

“Our annual Eco-lution events have enabled Winnipeggers to divert thousands of pounds of furniture, mattresses, electronics and household items from our landfills,” said Jennifer Allen, IKEA Winnipeg store manager.

“We are proud that this year, this event will bring together even more community partners, who support us in providing the resources our visitors need to create a more sustainable life at home.”

Furniture and clothing will be donated to the Salvation Army, and mattresses and electronics will go to Mother Earth Recycling.
