Give the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival a round of applause!
The annual 12-day festival wrapped up this past Sunday and marked another successful year. Total indoor ticketed attendance was 98,673 with 209 sold-out performances and $879,034 in box office revenue that was returned to the performing companies. Outdoor attendance totalled 60-70,000, with 4,989 in Kids Fringe attendance.
The festival featured 178 indoor companies with 1,511 total indoor performances.
“The Cause,” by Connor Joseph, Cuinn Joseph, and Jacob Herd, won the Manitoba Association of Playwrights (MAP) presented the 2019 Harry S. Rintoul Memorial Award for best new Manitoban play.
The 2020 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival will run from July 15-26.
