Dancing Gabe (BLUEBOMBERS.COM)
Winnipeg’s biggest sports fan is heading to the big game this weekend in Calgary.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are flying Dancing Gabe to the Grey Cup to watch his beloved hometown team take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Bombers say Gabe, real name Gabriel Langlois, will be on the ground Friday for the Touchdown Manitoba party at Palomino at Stampede Park.
He will then attend Bomber House at Hudsons Canada’s Pub on Saturday before settling in at the 107th Grey Cup on Sunday, where he will high-five the Bombers as they take to the field at McMahon Stadium.
“Gabe has been a fixture at Bomber games for years, and it’s only fitting that he be here with us for the 107th Grey Cup,” said Wade Miller, Blue Bombers president and CEO.
Gabe has been a staple on the local sports scene for more than 30 years, frequently dancing and cheering on the Bombers, Jets, Moose, Goldeyes and Winnipeg Ice.
