Christmas Cheer BoardWINNIPEG — The Christmas Cheer Board is receiving a donation of 1,800 turkeys in the midst of the holiday season.

Crown Auto Group, in partnership with Granny’s Poultry, will deliver the turkeys this Friday.

“We are very thankful to Crown Auto Group and Granny’s Poultry. Their efforts on our behalf are truly what Winnipeg is all about,” said Cheer Board executive director Kai Madsen.

“Our community is really unique — we care about our friends and neighbours and when the need is there everyone steps up to help. Merry Christmas to all.”

The donation is the third of its kind by the auto group, who provided more than 1,800 turkeys in 2017 and 2018.

Staff are also helping the Cheer Board deliver hampers. More than 17,000 hampers are being delivered this holiday season, but the Cheer Board still needs hundreds of drivers to ensure they reach families in need.

The charity also needs cash donations, which are down about $100,000 compared to this time last year.
