The United Way Winnipeg celebrated in a big way Thursday night when they revealed a record $21.6 million has been raised as part of their annual fundraising campaign.
“You did it, Winnipeg! $21.6 million for our community! Our largest achievement ever!” said Jeff Goy, president and CEO of Wawanesa Insurance and United Way Winnipeg’s volunteer 2019 Campaign Chair.
“Now, we can help even more people across our community.”
United Way Winnipeg announced its ambitious campaign goal this past September at its annual Plane Pull event.
The volunteer-led organization will use the funds to support more than 100 donor-supported agency partners and programs that provide life-changing services to Winnipeggers throughout the community. Donations are also still pouring in from some campaigns and will be added to the final total.
