Police say a southbound pickup truck, being driven by an 80-year-old man from Altona, attempted to turn east onto Provincial Road 421 when he collided with a northbound semi-trailer, being driven by a 29-year-old man.

The man driving the pickup truck was pronounced deceased on scene. The semi driver wasn’t injured.

Pembina Valley RCMP continue to investigate.
