St. Andrews Lock and Dam Bridge (CANADA.CA)
Public Services and Procurement Canada has announced the annual seasonal closure of the St. Andrews Lock and Dam.
The closure will take effect at midnight on Monday, October 14, and will remain in place until spring or summer 2025.
Once the lock is closed, the drawdown of water between Lockport and Winnipeg will begin, causing fluctuating water levels in the Red and Assiniboine rivers. Vessel and property owners along the rivers are advised to take precautions to protect their assets.
Additionally, gated areas below the dam may be closed due to hazardous water conditions, remaining shut until spring.
