WINNIPEG — As temperatures continue to drop, the 56th annual Festival du Voyageur is gearing up to welcome visitors from February 14 to 23, 2025.
Known for its celebration of Francophone and Indigenous cultures, the festival will feature classic activities like snowshoeing, ice sculpture workshops, sleigh rides, and live music. This year’s edition introduces new features, including the “Dans l’shed à Léo” exhibition and self-guided tours in Fort Gibraltar, which will recreate the year 1815 with costumed interpreters, traditional trades, and historical tales.
“While we eagerly await the snow, we’re confident it will be here in abundance. The Festival du Voyageur team is in full swing with planning this exciting and unique celebration, which will open its tents on Valentine’s Day evening this year,” said executive director Breanne Lavallée-Heckert.
“We’re working tirelessly to create a unique experience, with a variety of activities for all tastes, exceptional artistic programming as well as new surprises.”
Heated tents will keep attendees warm as they enjoy traditional foods and music. Concerts will also be held at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre, with notable performances by Leif Vollebekk, Andrina Turenne, and Louisiana’s T’Monde. New pass options will offer flexibility, allowing access to specific weekends.
