A CN police officer faces impaired driving charges after a report of erratic driving led to his arrest on November 6.
Manitoba RCMP responded to a 9:45 a.m. call from a concerned motorist who observed a marked police SUV driving erratically on Highway 1, east of Brandon. The caller lost sight of the vehicle but provided details that helped police identify it as belonging to CN police.
Officers located the vehicle at a Brandon residence and arrested the 42-year-old CN police officer, who was on duty at the time. The suspect was taken to the Blue Hills RCMP detachment, where breath analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit.
The officer was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Brandon court on January 2, 2025. The officer’s name will be released once charges are formally laid.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has been notified and is monitoring the case.
