Winnipeg’s annual winter route parking ban will begin on December 6 and be in place until further notice.

The parking ban is in effect from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. and prohibits parking on designated “Winter Route” and “Snow Route” streets.

People can find out if the ban applies to any address or location by downloading the Know Your Zone app, searching the interactive snow map or contacting 311.

The parking ban isn’t weather-dependent and includes times when it is not snowing and when a street looks to have been recently cleared.

Vehicles parked in violation of the ban may receive a $100 ticket ($75 if paid early). They may also be towed to the towing company’s compound.
