Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew continues to garner strong approval, with two-thirds (67%) of Manitobans endorsing his performance, according to the latest Angus Reid Institute data.
This marks Kinew’s fifth consecutive quarter as the nation’s highest-rated premier.
Kinew’s efforts to address affordability and health care, key campaign promises, have resonated positively. Progress includes strides in hiring more health-care workers, though staffing shortages and long surgical wait lists remain pressing challenges. Manitobans appear optimistic about his leadership amid ongoing efforts to tackle systemic issues.
“On a personal level, I would love it if we could just snap our fingers and say, ‘New (emergency room) over here, all these people staffed up over there’,” Kinew told Global News on the one-year anniversary of his election. “But the reality is it will take time.”
Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston held the second spot at 55%, while New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt earned 54% approval in third place.
