Winnipeggers are being invited down to The Forks to celebrate the first day of 2025.

New Year’s Day activities are planned for January 1, including musical acts, games, crafts, drag performances, yoga and movement classes, and outdoor activities.

“Dive into winter and the new year by making it your resolution to have more fun, activity, and community connection in 2025,” said Sara Stasiuk, CEO of The Forks North Portage, in a release.

“We’ve got a great lineup of events and performances for all to enjoy as you reset for the year ahead.”

Outdoors, guests can catch live music by the Canopy Rink, take skating lessons, or gather around the fire for drumming and storytelling with Elder Barbara Nepinak. Families can also visit the Agowiidiwinan Centre for workshops and activities hosted by the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba.

All events are free to attend, with full details to be shared on The Forks’ website and social media closer to the date.

The day’s events will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will take place throughout The Forks site.
