WINNIPEG — A former Manitoba Tory cabinet minister has been named the new CEO of CentreVenture Development Corporation.
The organization announced on Monday that Rochelle Squires will lead CentreVentre effective January 2, 2025.
Squires served as the MLA for Riel from 2016 to 2023 and held several ministerial roles during that time, including minister of municipal relations, families, and sustainable development.
“Rochelle’s vision and foresight for CentreVenture, coupled with her ability to create collaborative work environments, will drive the success of this organization,” said Maxine Kashton, member of the CentreVenture search committee.
In a statement, Squires said she is looking forward to working with the organization’s partners to continue the vital work of urban revitalization.
“Together, we will build on the strong foundation already in place to get more housing built and bring more residents to downtown Winnipeg,” she said.
