Manitoba RCMP have charged three people following a violent break-in and shooting incident on January 4 in the RM of Gimli.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots at a residence on Highway 8. Investigators determined that three men had forcibly entered the home, threatened the male occupant, and shot one of his dogs as it chased them away.

RCMP tracked the suspects to a rented residence in Gimli. A search of the property uncovered a .357 Magnum, $17,000 in cash, and various prescription drugs.

Arthur Mills, 23, J’ziah Cassanova, 18, and a 17-year-old male youth, all from Mississauga, Ontario, were arrested without incident. They face multiple charges.

Police confirmed the incident was targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation is continuing.
