WINNIPEG — Skaters can now glide further than before along the Nestaweya River Trail at The Forks.

Officials announced on Saturday that the trail now extends three kilometres down the Assiniboine River from The Forks Port Rink and all the way to Hugo Docks.

“Starting next week the river trail crew will move to the Red River and focus on extending the trail toward the Norwood Bridge and beyond,” The Forks said in a release.

The Forks is reminding the public to stick to the marked trail, as their team only tests ice on the official trail.
