WINNIPEG — The one-month countdown is on to the 2025 edition of Festival du Voyageur.
The 56th annual event is Western Canada’s largest winter festival and is scheduled to take place February 14-23.
“Festival season is finally here,” said executive director Breanne Lavallée-Heckert, in a release on Tuesday. “For the first time since winter 2023, you’ll see snow sculptures that will decorate the city of Winnipeg and Provencher Boulevard and provide a fun feeling of excitement for FDV2025.
“Today, we’re delighted to reveal the full line-up of artists and performances that will have you jigging on wood chips in the warm tents of Parc du Voyageur.”
New attractions this year include L’shed à Léo, an exhibition of objects and photos that Léo keeps in his shed from festivals of yesteryear; interactive self-guided activity tours of Fort Gibraltar, which will have festivalgoers interact with and discover more about life in the fort in 1815; a new outdoor lounge with bonfires, a beverage shack, art, information panels on maple syrup production and a daytime ice sculpting workshop.
This year’s festival will also feature performances by artists like The Barr Brothers, Corb Lund, Leif Vollebekk, Jill Barber, Roman Clarke, Ami Cheon, Al Simmons, Will’s Jams, and others.
