Gimli RCMP are investigating after a fatal garage fire claimed the life of one person on Sunday night.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Lakeview Road on Matheson Island just before 8 p.m.
Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters located the remains of a deceased individual.
Both the cause of death and the cause of the fire remain under investigation, however, RCMP say no criminality is suspected.
Police, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
