WINNIPEG — Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has made a minor change to his cabinet following the death of MLA Nello Altomare last week.
Tracy Schmidt, MLA for Rossmere, has been named Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning. Schmidt, who had been serving in an acting capacity since last October, steps into the role held by former minister Altomare.
Mike Moyes, MLA for Riel, has also joined the cabinet as the new Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
The premier noted both ministers were sworn into cabinet at a private ceremony.
