The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released long-time receiver Drew Wolitarsky, ending his seven-season tenure with the team.
“These decisions are always difficult and it’s especially true with a player who has been with us for so long,” said Blue Bombers GM Kyle Walters on Monday.
“Drew has been a solid contributor for the team, was popular in the locker room and was instrumental in two Grey Cup championships, and for that the franchise is forever grateful.”
Wolitarsky joined the Blue Bombers in 2017 via the CFL Supplemental Draft. Over 89 regular-season games, he recorded 227 receptions, 2,954 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
Injuries sidelined Wolitarsky for part of the 2024 season, during which he managed 33 catches for 403 yards and one touchdown across 10 games. His standout year came in 2023, with 47 receptions, 668 yards, and six touchdowns.
