Dauphin RCMP have arrested one man following an armed standoff at a local residence last week.
Mounties were called to a home on Park Crescent on Thursday afternoon for a report of a disturbance.
Officers encountered a 33-year-old man armed with a knife and making threats toward police. Police swiftly escorted two adults to safety and contained the area.
As the suspect barricaded himself inside the home, an RCMP crisis negotiator was brought in to assist. After a 90-minute negotiation, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident.
James Guiboche faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting a peace officer, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. He has been remanded into custody.
