DAUPHIN, Man. – A Manitoba mayor has died while on vacation with his family in Florida.
A statement on the City of Dauphin website says Eric Irwin died Friday.
It says the cause of his death is unknown at this time.
A 24-year-old Dauphin man was killed Friday when his vehicle struck a concrete retaining wall and fell down a ravine in Riding Mountain National Park.
The single-vehicle crash happened at around 4:30 p.m. approximately eight kilometres south of the park’s north gate.
RCMP in Dauphin are looking for a woman who held up a convenience store Sunday morning.
The armed suspect entered the Main Street store at around 7 a.m. and demanded money, lottery tickets and cigarettes before fleeing in a red getaway car driven by a man.
RCMP have arrested a man after they say he produced counterfeit $50 bills and made purchases at a Dauphin business.
Police received a report of the counterfeit bills on Monday and examined surveillance video from the business. A local bank was also discovered to be in possession of the fake currency, which had the same serial number.
A Dauphin man may think twice the next time he invites someone into his home.
RCMP say a 73-year-old man was robbed on December 13 when he invited a recent acquaintance into his home at around 2:30 a.m. The victim was assaulted and the suspect made off with some cash.
A man from Camperville, Manitoba is in police custody after the seizure of over a dozen firearms on Sunday.
RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the community, where they found 17 assorted firearms, two silencers, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, other weapons and stolen property.
A 65-year-old Dauphin man was assaulted when two suspects broke into his home earlier this month.
Manitoba RCMP say it happened on October 16 at around 1:50 a.m. Two suspects forced their way through a door and injured the man, sending him to hospital. He was treated and released.

The body of a man was pulled from the Vermillion River in Dauphin on Tuesday afternoon.
Manitoba RCMP were called out at around 4:30 p.m. to the southwest side of the city, where the body was located partially submerged in the water.
An autopsy is being performed today and police do not suspect foul play.
