Traffic Stops Net Dauphin RCMP Drugs, Weapons

Two traffic stops in Dauphin over the weekend yielded RCMP cocaine, methamphetamine, and weapons.

Police seized 764 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia Friday night during a traffic stop on Main Street.

Woman Pushed into Own Apartment During Dauphin Home Invasion

RCMP Crest Logo VehicleRCMP in Dauphin have arrested a 29-year-old woman after a home invasion on 2nd Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Police say a 55-year-old woman was unlocking the door to her apartment when someone approached her from behind. The suspect pushed the victim into the apartment and grabbed a knife from the counter before cutting the phone line. The victim was then forced into the bathroom while the woman searched the apartment and fled with several items.

Gilbert Plains Man Stabbed After Answering the Door

Manitoba RCMP say two males knocked on the door at around 11:15 p.m. and one of them stabbed the man in the upper body. The suspects then grabbed a small amount of marijuana from the home before fleeing in a vehicle.

New MRI Scanner in Dauphin Ready to See Patients

The dream of a long-overdue MRI scanner in Dauphin is now a reality after the province announced Monday the machine is now in use.

The new MRI machine is expected to perform approximately 3,500 scans per year and reduce the number of inter-facility transfers required for patients who would previously have been transferred to Winnipeg or Brandon for the scans.
