A new concert series is brewing in Winnipeg this summer.
Def Leppard and Jason Aldean will headline the new Thunder Stadium Concert Series, coming to Princess Auto Stadium thanks to a partnership with the Winnipeg Football Club and True North Sports + Entertainment.
The goal is to have an annual summer stadium festival, said WFC’s Wade Miller.
“It’s been almost eight years since Winnipeggers have been treated to a stadium show,” he said.
“Stadium shows and festivals are quickly becoming summer’s hottest entertainment ticket across North America, and we are excited to create the blueprint to bring a unique festival experience to Manitoba’s backyard,” said Kevin Donnelly, True North’s Sr. Vice President of Venues + Entertainment.
Other acts include Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Foreigner, Toque, Brent Fitz, Nate Smith and Madeline Merlo.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Valour FC, Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose season ticket members will have access to an exclusive pre-sale beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Wednesday, Feb. 5 will mark the artists’ pre-sale, and general tickets go on sale Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.
