Winnipeg’s Main Street Project has launched Into the Cold, a month-long fundraising event encouraging Manitobans to walk or run while raising money for programs supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Participants can register as individuals or teams, with funds going toward essential services like food, shelter, and crisis support.

“While you’re working towards your fitness goals, you’re also building empathy and raising awareness about the realities of experiencing homelessness in the harsh winter weather, said Cindy Titus, communications manager at Main Street Project. “It’s a great way to stay active and make a meaningful impact on our community.”

Registrations are open now with the event running from March 1 to March 31, 2025. More information can be found at mainstreetproject.ca.
