A 19-year-old Winnipeg man has been arrested and charged with multiple terrorism-related offences following an investigation by the RCMP’s National Security Enforcement Section.
Nevin Thunder Young was taken into custody on Monday after a referral from Winnipeg police He faces charges under the Criminal Code, including facilitating terrorist activity, participating in a terrorist group, and committing an offence for a terrorist group. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
Young remains in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
No further details on the case or a potential plot allegedly planned by the accused were released.
