The Winnipeg Humane Society has hired Christina Von Schindler as the organization’s new CEO, effective May 1.
Von Schindler has been an active member of the WHS board of directors since 2023 and is a life-long advocate for animal welfare and a dedicated rescue dog parent.
Von Schindler brings over a decade of leadership experience as chief privacy officer for Shared Health and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). Her professional career also took her to spend time in leadership roles at Sara Riel and The Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (now Manitoba Possible).
Von Schindler replaces Jessica Miller, who was WHS CEO from 2021 to 2024. Miller is now the CEO of the Victoria Hospital Foundation.
