Winnipeg police have arrested two people following an investigation into the distribution of intimate images without consent.
The investigation began in January 2025 when a woman reported to Winnipeg police that her former partner had created and shared intimate images of her without her consent.
On January 9, the images were sent to an official within the woman’s school division employer. The official then forwarded the content to others for follow-up.
Police arrested the former partner on January 15, charging him with multiple offences, including voyeurism, assault, uttering threats, and distributing an intimate image without consent. He was detained in custody.
Following further investigation and forensic analysis, police arrested the school division official on March 20. The individual was charged with distributing an intimate image without consent and was released on an undertaking.
Police remind the public that sharing intimate images without consent is a criminal offence. Victims of such crimes can seek support through Cybertip, Winnipeg police victim services at (204) 986-6350, or the Klinic Sexual Assault Crisis Line at (204) 786-8631.
