WestJet has announced new direct summer flights connecting major Canadian cities to the east coast, including non-stop flights from Winnipeg.
Travellers departing from Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport will soon be able to fly direct to St. John’s, Newfoundland, beginning July 1.
The airline also announced an increase in non-stop Winnipeg to Halifax flights up to 10 times per week beginning this summer.
“As Manitoba’s international gateway, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport is proud to support WestJet’s continued investment in strengthening domestic and transatlantic connectivity,” said Nick Hays, president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority.
“New service to St. John’s and increased frequencies to Halifax will provide more options for travellers while reinforcing Winnipeg’s growing role in connecting Canadians from coast to coast—and beyond.”
Travellers in Vancouver, Saskatoon and Regina will also see direct service to Halifax in the coming months.
