Winnipeg police have launched an investigation after a body was found Thursday morning at a GFL Environmental recycling depot in the 300 block of Mazenod Road.

The remains are believed to be those of an adult male, but formal identification has not yet been made. Officers say the investigation is in its early stages and further details will be released as they become available.

As a result, the City of Winnipeg has suspended recycling collection for the remainder of the day. Scheduled garbage pickup isn’t being affected Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (2024) 786-TIPS (8477).
