A 17-year-old Winnipeg boy was arrested twice within hours at St. Malo Provincial Park following separate incidents involving impaired driving and assaulting patrol officers.

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP were first called to the park around 11 p.m. on June 13 after the teen was seen driving dangerously while intoxicated. He failed a roadside screening test and was issued an immediate suspension before being released on scene.

Less than two hours later, at 12:55 a.m., RCMP were called again after the same teen allegedly assaulted two park patrol officers and made threats. He was arrested and later released with a future court date.

The investigation is ongoing.
