WestJet is launching its first non-stop route from Winnipeg to Central America with a new weekly flight to Liberia, Costa Rica, starting December 19, 2025.
The winter 2025/26 schedule includes 23 non-stop routes from Winnipeg, with expanded service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. Overall, WestJet says it is increasing sun destination service from Winnipeg by 14 percent compared to last year.
The new Winnipeg-Liberia route will depart James Richardson International Airport on December 19, 2025 and run once weekly.
The Winnipeg-Cancun (12x weekly) and Winnipeg-Puerto Vallarta (10x weekly) routes will increase frequency beginning October 26, 2025.
“This new route, along with expanded service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, highlights WestJet’s confidence in our market and strengthens Winnipeg Richardson International Airport’s role as a key hub connecting our community to the world,” said Nick Hays, president and CEO, Winnipeg Airports Authority, in a release.
