A 20-year-old man from Stuartburn was killed in a collision between two large trucks east of Brandon on Tuesday.
Manitoba RCMP say a gravel truck had just turned onto Highway 1 from Curries Landing Road and was accelerating eastbound when it was rear-ended by a water truck. The crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and Road 101 West.
The driver of the water truck, a 22-year-old man from Tolstoi, sustained minor injuries. The deceased man was a passenger in the water truck. The driver of the gravel truck, a 59-year-old man from the RM of North Cypress-Langford, was not hurt.
Everyone involved was wearing seat belts, according to police.
RCMP continue to investigate.
