Winnipeg firefighters tackled two separate house fires overnight, one in River Heights and another in Whyte Ridge.
The first blaze broke out around 8:28 p.m. Tuesday on Mathers Bay West. Crews found smoke coming from the home and had the fire under control within 50 minutes. Everyone escaped safely, with one person assessed by paramedics but not taken to hospital. Investigators believe the fire was accidental, caused by a clothes dryer.
The second fire was reported at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday on Invermere Street. Firefighters found flames and smoke and brought the fire under control just over an hour later. All occupants got out safely, and no injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
No damage estimates are available for either fire.
