A two-day joint police operation in Brandon has led to 23 arrests for prostitution-related offences.

Project Blockade, conducted September 26–27 by the Brandon Police Service, Winnipeg Police Service and Manitoba Criminal Intelligence Centre, targeted both street-level and online sexual exploitation. Arrests took place in downtown Brandon and local hotels.

Police also seized seven vehicles under provincial law. All of the accused men were released on undertakings.

“Project Blockade demonstrates the value of inter-agency collaboration in tackling exploitation within our communities,” said Staff Sergeant D. Andrew of the Brandon Police Service.

“These crimes often operate in the shadows, and coordinated efforts like this are essential in protecting vulnerable individuals and sending a clear message that this behaviour will not be tolerated.”
