Winnipeg police have seized drugs, cash, and a firearm following a search in the William Whyte neighbourhood earlier this month.

Police say officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Manitoba Avenue on Sunday, where seven people were taken into custody.

Officers seized a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, ammunition, approximately $600 worth of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and psilocybin, as well as $4,000 in cash.

Three individuals are facing a range of charges related to drug trafficking, firearm possession, and breach of conditions. Four others were released without charges.

Police say the arrests follow a drug trafficking investigation launched in October targeting activity in the area.
