Royal Canadian Air Force CH-146 Griffon helicopters from Edmonton’s 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron will deliver the Grey Cup to Winnipeg on Sunday.
The handoff will take place around 1 p.m. CT at CN Stage at The Forks, where the Cup will be rappelled down from a hovering helicopter.
A practice flight is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, and will include hovering near the drop zone.
The RCAF says all flights are carefully planned and monitored to ensure public safety, with operations depending on weather conditions. Residents may notice increased noise during the flights.
The 112th Grey Cup game is Sunday, November 16, at the sold-out Princess Auto Stadium.
