Winnipeg police have arrested a 56-year-old man in connection with a series of package thefts in the Westwood area.

Investigators say the suspect drove a 2024 Ford F-150 to two homes early on November 18, stealing packages from porches on Columbus Crescent and Assiniboine Avenue. Both incidents were captured on security cameras and reported to police.

Police linked the thefts to the suspect and located the pickup truck on November 20 in the 600 block of Cavalier Drive. Officers arrested the man and recovered numerous packages and other property believed to be stolen. Some items have since been returned to their owners.

The man has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and was released to appear in court.

Police encourage residents to report property thefts online, noting that quick reporting and security footage can help identify suspects and recover stolen items. Property thefts under $25,000 can be reported online.
