Winnipeg Transit is rolling out service changes on December 14, adding late-night hours in most On-Request zones and improving schedules on routes facing delays and crowding.
City officials say the adjustments are based directly on rider feedback gathered since the launch of the primary transit network earlier this year.
Starting December 14:
- Ten On-Request zones that currently run after 7 p.m. will extend service until about 2 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, and until 12:45 a.m. on Sundays and holidays.
- Zone 103 will expand to include Garden City Shopping Centre and Walmart.
- Daytime-only zones (104 and 110) will remain unchanged.
Transit has also rewritten schedules for routes D12, D13, D16, and F8, adding 49 weekday service hours, and added new trips to six school routes dealing with capacity issues. Extra before- and after-school trips are coming to routes 557, 649, 678, and additional morning trips to 442, 694, and 885.
A full list of upcoming changes can be found on the Winnipeg Transit website.
