Winnipeg police have charged a 54-year-old man after two youths were allegedly sexually assaulted at his home earlier this week.
Police say the youths met with the man on December 6 and went to his residence, where alcohol and drugs were consumed. One youth later left, but the other remained and was physically and sexually assaulted, according to police
Officers were dispatched the next morning to a central Winnipeg residence while searching for a missing youth. They located the youth inside the suite with the suspect, who was taken into custody.
Investigators also uncovered a prior incident from October 2025 in which one of the youths was allegedly assaulted by the same man.
Lawrence Philip Richards has been charged with multiple offences, including two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, two counts of forcible confinement, assault, assault by choking, and administering a noxious substance. He remains in custody.
