Winnipeggers will be able to ride Winnipeg Transit for free on New Year’s Eve as part of the city’s annual free ride program aimed at preventing impaired driving.
The city and Manitoba Public Insurance are offering free regular and Transit Plus service on Wednesday, December 31, from 7 p.m. until the end of service. The last buses are expected to leave downtown at approximately 1:30 a.m.
On-Request service will also run later than usual in 10 zones, operating until about 2 a.m. Riders are advised to request trips at least 20 minutes before the end of service.
Transit users are encouraged to plan their trips in advance using the Navigo trip planner or the Winnipeg Transit app.
