A 43-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple weapons-related charges following a firearms trafficking investigation.
Manitoba RCMP say they were alerted in September 2025 to allegations that a Winnipeg man was purchasing firearms using someone else’s firearms licence and acquiring other illegal weapons from outside Canada. An investigation was launched shortly afterward.
On January 8, police executed three search warrants in the rural municipalities of St. Andrews and Armstrong, as well as at a location in Winnipeg.
The suspect was arrested and later released on conditions, with a future court date pending. He is facing several charges, including unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing it was unauthorized, possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized, and weapons trafficking.
The suspect’s name wasn’t released.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
