The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed veteran kicker Sergio Castillo to a two-year deal and punter Jamieson Sheahan to a one-year contract.
Castillo returns for his fourth straight season with the club and his sixth overall in Winnipeg. He connected on over 85 percent of his field goal attempts in 2025 and set a franchise record with a 63-yard kick, tying the CFL record for longest field goal. Castillo now ranks sixth in franchise history in scoring and was the team’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2023 and 2024.
Sheahan returns for his fourth season with the Blue Bombers after serving as the team’s full-time punter since 2023. He averaged 47.8 yards per punt last season — the second-best mark in team history — and also serves as the holder on field goals and converts. The Australian native was drafted by Winnipeg in the 2023 CFL Global Draft and was named the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie that season.
Both players were scheduled to become free agents later this winter.
