RCMP have recovered a stolen off-road side-by-side vehicle and arrested a Brandon man following an investigation in the RM of Harrison Park.

Officers searched a rural property on the morning of January 19 while investigating the theft of the vehicle from a business in the RM of Oakville.

Police say no one was home when officers arrived, but a freshly plowed trail led them to a wooded area behind the property, where the stolen vehicle was located.

Later that morning, officers attended a second property linked to the suspect. After being told the suspect was not present, police followed footprints to a shed behind the residence. A police service dog was deployed, and the suspect was located and arrested without incident.

Dean Purdy, 41, of Brandon has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and three counts of breaching court orders. He was remanded into custody.
