A 44-year-old Winnipeg man is facing numerous charges following two separate sexual assault investigations involving teenage victims.

Police allege Ryan James Knight groomed and sexually assaulted a teenage boy between 2024 and 2025 after being hired to do renovation work for the family. The abuse was later reported, and Knight fled the city before being arrested in Calgary in March 2025. Electronic devices seized during that arrest contained child sexual abuse material, according to investigators.

Knight was arrested again in Winnipeg in July 2025 and later linked to a second teenage victim, whom police say he assaulted during a sleepover in August 2024. Further forensic analysis uncovered additional illegal material, according to police.

On January 25, 2026, Knight was arrested at Headingley Correctional Centre and charged with multiple offences, including sexual assault, sexual interference, possession and access of child pornography, and criminal harassment. He remains in custody.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police child abuse unit at (204) 986-3296.
