Winnipeg police have arrested four people and seized large quantities of drugs, firearms, and contraband following a January investigation into drug activity.
Police say two search warrants and several arrests led to the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl, psilocybin, marijuana, cannabis edibles and vape products, contraband cigarettes, more than $8,300 in cash, five high-value watches, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Officers also seized a loaded Tokarev Type 54 handgun and a Mossberg 12-gauge pistol-grip shotgun.
On January 28, a 38-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop involving a 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat near the 300 block of Nassau Street North. A search of the vehicle uncovered cocaine, more than two kilograms of marijuana, contraband cigarettes, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
Police then executed a search warrant at an office building in the same area, arresting a 39-year-old man and seizing additional quantities of drugs, firearms, ammunition, and packaging materials.
A third search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of William Tweed Terrace, where officers seized more marijuana, contraband cigarettes, cash, and drug paraphernalia. A 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested after being seen leaving the residence separately.
Police say the suspects are facing multiple charges related to drug trafficking, firearms possession, contraband tobacco, and proceeds of crime. All four were released on undertakings.
