Westbound Portage Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Carlton and Edmonton streets from Monday to Friday as crews install a tower crane at the Portage Place redevelopment site.

PCL Construction is bringing in the crane to mark the transition from deconstruction to active building on the Health Care Centre of Excellence. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes through the end of the week.

When complete, the redeveloped site will include the Health Care Centre of Excellence, a 19-storey residential tower, retail, community services, and green space. Portage Place retailers remain open throughout construction.
