Four people from Scarborough, Ontario, are facing charges after a string of gym locker thefts and credit card frauds at fitness facilities across Winnipeg.

Winnipeg police launched an investigation after receiving multiple reports of stolen wallets and fraudulent card transactions at gyms throughout the city. Surveillance footage helped investigators identify a group of suspects who were posing as prospective gym members to gain access to secured locker areas.

Six incidents occurred between March 12 and 18, 2026, targeting fitness facilities on South Town Road, Newmarket Boulevard, Main Street, and Meadowood Drive. Fraudulent transactions made with the stolen cards totalled more than $8,000.

On April 23, three suspects were spotted together in the 600 block of St. Anne’s Road, contrary to an existing Ontario court order, and were taken into custody.

All four were detained in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
