Manitoba Children’s Museum (CHILDRENSMUSEUM.COM)
The Manitoba government is putting $500,000 into the Manitoba Children’s Museum to support programming, outreach and revitalization efforts.
The new funding was announced on Friday as the museum marks its 40th anniversary.
“This funding strengthens our ability to deliver the programs and services that have defined this organization for four decades and contributes meaningfully to our long-term sustainability as we look to the years ahead,” said Trevor Clearwater, the museum’s executive director.
In 2024, the downtown Winnipeg attraction welcomed more than 144,000 visitors from across the country.
The museum currently features 12 permanent galleries alongside rotating temporary exhibits. Its Explore Abilities Access Program provides sensory-friendly experiences for children with autism spectrum disorders and sensory processing differences, while the Free2Play Access Program offers free admission to families in underserved communities.
The museum is open to the public daily from 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.
