The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are launching a new program to recognize Manitobans who serve on the front lines of care.
Called the Blue Bombers Honour Tickets, the program is a ticket-donation initiative that will give first responders, Canadian Armed Forces members and other frontline professionals free or discounted access to home games at Princess Auto Stadium.
“Across Manitoba, thousands of people quietly serve our communities every day under immense pressure,” said Wade Miller, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club. “Blue Bombers Honour Tickets is our way of saying thank you, inviting them to trade a night on the frontlines for a night in the stands with the CFL’s loudest fans.”
The program works by allowing season ticket holders or others who can’t attend a game to donate their tickets through thier My Blue Bombers account. Tickets are then redistributed to verified frontline workers, and donors will get a tax receipt provided by Wounded Warriors Canada.
In addition, corporate sponsors can buy blocks of tickets for the program by contacting the Bombers’ corporate partnership team, said Miller.
